Mt Pierce 4,310'

From the Ledges of Pierce in December

Mt Pierce (AKA Mt Clinton) has a flat summit with some ledges leading to it from Crawford Path It is frequented by Gray Jays who seem to live between here and Mitzpah Cutoff Trail

THE TRAILHEADS

Most popular route is ♦Crawford Path to a little spur to the summit. Trailhead is located in the heart of Crawford Notch across the road from the Highland Center. There is also a trailhead on Mt Clinton Road.♦Crawford Path is the oldest continuous use trail and rises moderately for it's length from the notch. Mitzpah Hut is open seasonally and is located nearby down the ♦Webster Cliff Trail

Some do Pierce and Jackson as a loop by taking the ♦Webster-Jackson Trail to ♦Webster Cliff over Jackson and Pierce then down Crawford. Webster Jackson trailhead is located just a little south of Crawford Path

THE MOUNTAIN

Mt Pierce has spectacular views and in summer you may see a dozen or more people lounging on it's broad summit ledges. It's one of the easier peaks to bag in winter and is close to treeline.
